Brave new world - making the jump from Etsy to my own site!

Thank you, to everyone reading this, for all your support - I could not have got this far without you <3 To celebrate, please use NEWBEGINNINGS at checkout for 10% off everything in the store until the end of June :)

All business involves risk. That's one of the first and most common things you hear when you look into starting up your own shop - and it's not wrong. You could put a bunch of time in and end up with nothing to show for it. You could invest money into stocking products that no one then buys.

I didn't have to worry about the time investment side of things when I started designing cross stitch patterns, being housebound through disability, but I did have to make sure I didn't burn myself out working too hard. When non-cross stitchers in my life asked if I'd consider selling stickers so they could enjoy my designs too, I promised myself that I would only invest profits back into the business to minimize any financial risk.

But you can't avoid risk forever! Creating my own site has been a huge leap into the unknown for me though, both with a steep learning curve, time investment in setting it up and financially biting the bullet and hoping the monthly site fees will be less than my current monthly Etsy fees!

I thought for a long time that I would never be able to work again once my disability got bad enough to stop me working back in 2015. Being able to work from home like this, with something I'm passionate about is a dream come true. I'm so incredibly grateful.

So I just want to say thank you - from the bottom of my heart - to everyone who's helped support me to where I am now. I hope I can keep making lots of new designs for everyone to enjoy for a long while to come, and that one day I might even be able to expand even further <3
